Overall, a good product. For my personal use, I've found that having straps behind the head and neck is much easier for extended wearing of masks. Also, keeping it on and around the neck seems to lead to less manipulation and man-handling of the mask (which is hopefully a little more hygienic). Easy to wash and quick to dry.

Très efficace et durable.
Le seul petit défault, c'est que c'est difficile de détacher l'attache à cliquet de la courroie du bas. Mais il est totalement ajustable et pas cher pour la qualité!

As much of my professional life now centres around the procurement and evaluation of PPE for a metropolitan hospital, the more personal side has also garnered an interest in its development and construction.
When I first noticed Tactical Innovation's Gen 2 mask, I couldn't help but pull the trigger and purchase a few. Not simply for my walk abouts, but for the range, and even hospital use outside of COVID+/PUI areas. After all, who doesn't like a little Multicam black?
Upon receipt I was delightfully surprised by the full, professional packaging - something akin to what you'd purchase in store, and off the rack. A colorful cardboard header, stapled neatly around the platic bag holding the mask. A nice surprise given the seemly ad hoc nature of such a niche product. They even include literature and instructions. Incredibly professional packaging, even in the best of times.
Once open, it is easy to see the care and craftsmanship in each and every mask. Clean rows of stitching, even seams, a tidy label, and robust straps, buckles, and a clasp. Even where the straps have been offset for ergonomics, great care has been taken to stitch these in place.
Though the exterior is a tidy ripstop, the interior boasts a soft liner that sits nicely against the face and doesn't appear to condensate all too much with extended use. This also allows a spot for a filter layer, should you wish to use one. This mask is certainly on the heavier side, though it is very much breathable. The fit for my medium/large face is perfect, and could certainly be adjusted to accommodate you up or down. But what really sets it apart from so many failed masks - for those looking for protection - is the robust and pliable nose bridge, that spans from cheek to cheek giving a near perfect seal. To accommodate such a feature, there is a build up of material, so it may be difficult for you glass wearers to set your glasses over the nose bridge. Though the seal is amazing, it does take a little playing with to keep your glasses from fogging.
The strap system has also been well thought out, taking many of its cues from a traditional reusable respirator. Tried and true, this allows for comfortable and clear adjustment, and the neck strap also includes a clasp, should you wish to put on and off without going over your head. The clasp is a little tight, but can be easily navigated with a little practice, and some nails. The straps themselves include a silicone pattern which helps with traction on the head, with each buckle doubled back on to avoid further slippage.
Combined with a great array of patterns, this would be a fantastic choice for anyone looking for a robust mask set for protection. I'm already looking to buy more, and look forward to seeing what Tactical Innovations comes up with next.
